Barbecue Sauce

Ingredients: ½ small onion, minced ,1 cup ketchup,1 clove garlic  minced, ¼ cup bourbon , 2 tablespoons butter, 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup, 2 tablespoons worecestershire,1 teaspoon salt,1 teaspoon mustard powder, 1 teaspoon chilli powder

1. Saute onions and garlic in butter in a heavy saucepan.
2. Add remaining ingredients.
3. Bring to a boil and simmer 10 minutes. Use to baste meats for grilling.
4. Simmer 10-15 minutes longer to reduce to a thicker sauce for serving with cooked meat; especially good for ribs or pork chops.

Maple Cream Pie

Ingredients: 1 can sweetened condensed milk, pn of salt, 2/3 cups pure maple syrup, 1 cooked pie shell, whipped cream

1. Combine sweetened condensedmilk, syrup, and salt in a saucepan. 

2. Heat (stirring CONSTANTLY) over very low heat until bubbles in center. 
3. Cool slightly. Pour into pre-cooked shell. 
4. Top with whipped cream when ready to serve.

 Yield: 1 Serving

Maple Syrup Martini


Ingredients: 3 oz Maker’s Mark, 3/4oz Pure Maple Syrup, 3/4oz Noily Prat Dry French Vermouth, 2 dashes orange bitters

Chewy Maple Cookies

Yield: 30 cookies

Ingredients: 2 cups all purpose flour, 1/2 teaspoon baking soda, 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger, 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon,1/2 teaspoon salt, 1 cup dark brown sugar,1 stick unsalted butter at room temperature, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, 3/4 cup Grade B maple syrup,1 egg,


  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, and salt
  2. In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar together until light and fluffy, about 4 minutes.
  3. Beat in vanilla and egg until well combined. Add maple syrup and beat until combined.
  4. Add flour mixture to wet ingredients in two additions, stirring until just incorporated. Cover bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate one hour.
  5. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  6. Drop dough by the tablespoon onto the baking sheet, keeping cookies three inches apart. Bake cookies until golden around the edges, about 10 minutes. Let cookies cool for 10 minutes on sheet until moving to a cooling rack.
